In 1973 the Nonino family produced the first Grappa Monovitigno from marc of Picolit grapes. Marc is obtained by distilling the solid components of a grape. The family celebrated great success with the brandy and soon other distillers worldwide became aware of the new product. Grappa is not only the oldest eau-de-vie in Northern Italy but also the most traditional. The grappas of the Nonino family reflect the history and long tradition of the company.
