Jakončič Carolina Rdeča 2016
Is a medium-intense garnet red. On the nose, the wine is elegant and ripe, with a distinctive aroma of cherries and cherry jam. In the mouth, the wine is dry, juicy, with elegant ripe tannins. The character in the mouth is intense, with spices and exotic spices, as well as chocolate and ripening in the wood. A very complex wine with a long aftertaste and a long life.
Composition of varieties:
Cabernet Sauvignon 75%
Cabernet Franc 5%
Method of Aging and Production:
Manual harvesting in early October. The grapes are macerated for one month. The wine is then matured for 24 months in 225 liter barrels at constant temperature and humidity. We use 50% Slavonian oak, 47% French Allier and 3% French Troncaise oak.
The Goriška Brda winegrowing district, characterized by hilly terrain and mild sub-Mediterranean climate. Terraced vineyards over the age of 30 are grown under the single Guyot system. Planting density is 5,500 vines per acre.
The unique buzzing of a tractor out there in the beard is the only evidence that the technique can enter the world, which otherwise builds on manual labor, on tradition and knowledge that is passed down from generation to generation. The experience of the elderly drives the young people's inexperience, and at our farm, we are most proud that parents and children share the care of the vineyards, wineries and marketing.
