Chateau Dassault Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015

In 1862 Chateau Dassault was made by Victor Beylot and in 1955 Chateau Couperie was bought by Marcel Dassault who invested a lot of time in the renovation of the estate as well as putting his name to it. The estate is currently run by Laurent Dassault who runs it with the same passion as his grandfather. The area of the vineyard is 24 hectares with the grape varieties being 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Annual production is 70,000 bottles and the wine produced is Chateau Dassault with a second wine Le D de Dassault.

This flirts with the exotic, showing blueberry, loganberry and açaí berry flavors backed by dark, slightly briary notes. Not shy with its toast, but the finish is polished and integrated.

A very pretty wine with blackberry and dark chocolate aromas and flavors. Full body, soft tannins and a walnut, berry aftertaste. Impressive.
