Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor. Laphroaig Triple Wood matures in three different casks: American oak casks, sherry casks and quarter casks. Very interesting result, which is unparalleled. The triple maturation creates a unique blend! The whisky was not cold filtered. Tasting notes:Colour: Gold. Nose: oak, vanilla, chamomile, peat, hints of pepper and smoke. Taste: Full, fruity, sweet, licorice, vanilla. Finish: Long lasting.
