The distillery A.H. Riise is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean.
Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony.
Around the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy but also to produce alcohol.
The term "Non Plus Ultra" comes from Roman mythology. The Heracles columns, which were built near the Strait of Gibraltar, mark the border of the end of the world.
This Spirit Drink honours nothing else but the term "nothing further/'nothing beyond".
Only the best and oldest rums from A.H. Riise's stock are used to make A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare. The Master Distiller personally ensures the high quality. Only 3000 bottles of it are produced by hand every year.
Nose: oranges, tobacco, caramel, notes of sherry and vanilla.
Taste: Notes of tobacco, sherry.
