Ferdinand Brutus Red 2013
Ferdinand Brutus is a deep ruby color and has a complex odor consisting of aromas of plum marmalade and tobacco with notes of wood and black fruits. There is an intense and full-bodied taste of fruit with firm tannins in the mouth.
Composition of varieties:
Cabernet Sauvignon 10%
Method of Aging and Production:
Hand picking. The maceration lasts for 3-4 weeks, then the fermented wine is poured into 225 liter barrels, where the biological digestion is completed, which gives the wine a softness. Aging in French oak barrels lasts at least 24 months.
The grapes are grown in the two best vineyards Kalehne and Pročno.
Ferdinand wines are made in Brda. The altitudes of the vineyards are between 150 and 300m and mostly look south and east.
The style of the Ferdinand wine house is today shaped by Matjaz Fourth, an agronomist who, from childhood, felt he wanted to become a winemaker. He revived the family tradition, as the family of Matjaž's pranonot Ferdinand was already very successful in wine-making.
In the Ferdinand wine cellar, the most attention is paid to the rebula they present in all wine lines - as fresh wine (classic rebula), matured in oak barrels (Época), as macerated rebula (Brutus) and in sparkling wine Sinefinis.
The Ferdinand Cellar is the initiator and organizer of the Rebolium project - a rebula through time that explores and promotes its development.
